The first man who came up with the idea of a 4*4 huge, useful vehicle is not noted in the history.Thus The originator of these handy, powerful machines is not exactly known. Nonetheless, in the 19 century an English engineer came up with the patent of four wheel drive for the a traction engine. His name was Bramah Joseph Diplock. His patent included three differentials and four wheel steering. Later on the vehicle was built.This was before the establishment of the automobile industry. With further development Bramah's Pedrail wheel system was incorporated, in the first ever four wheel vehicle. After some time, the vehicle was announced to have the ability to travel on uneven and rough surfaces. Thus, the formation of this vehicle was actually based on Bramaghs idea to develop a vehicle that would cause less damage to the roads. However, the first four wheel vehicle that was driven was constructed by Ferdinand Porsche. The vehicle is famously known as Electric vehicle. Presently, Porsche is a famous four wheel and automobile brand and is renowned for manufacturing high quality four wheel drives.
